Is the America we know today, the America that our forefathers envisioned? It is not! America is against God. Chuck Colson calls the time in which we live, the post Christian era. That means that the Christian influence is all but gone. We have a generation that has been raised in schools where God has been kicked out, where evolution is taught as fact, and where character training has been banished from the curriculum according to former Secretary of Education William Bennett. Bennett said: “When I took the Drug Czar job, I ran into police and judges, and wardens who said, “Nobody is teaching these kids right and wrong anymore.”

Friends, America is in a mess. We’ve been in a mess for a long time, and we need a revival! America has turned against God, and no nation that turns against God will get away with it. We need revival! Mathew 5:13-14 tells us that we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world!

1. Salt stops the spread of corruption.

2. Light dispels the darkness.

Are we losing our saltiness and our light? Preacher, you say America is against God! How can you say that? Dear friends, the Bible tells me that America has turned against God.

I. AMERICA IS AGAINST GOD BECAUSE OF EVIL DOINGS (Isaiah 3:8).

     A.Proverbs 20:11 says: “Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether is be right.”

     B. Isaiah 3:8 says: “Jerusalem is ruined…” Jerusalem is a capital. The word ruined means “decayed, rotten.” A country is in trouble when its capital is rotten.

     1.There are more illegitimate births than legitimate births in D.C.

          2. D.C. has the highest abortion rate per capita in the US.

          3. D.C. has the highest murder rate per capita in the US.

               a. The US, as a whole, leads the civilized world in murder.

               b. If you take out all the murders committed by guns, we still lead the world in murder. There is enough choking, strangling, etc. for us to have the highest murder rate. Taking away guns will not stop murder.

          4. Within blocks of the White House, there are murder, rapes, car thefts, burglaries, etc.

          5. D.C. public schools are among the worst in the nation. Where did Chelsea go to High School?

     C. Isaiah 3:8 speaks of the tongue of those in the capital. “There tongue…” is against the Lord.

           1. Lies are prevalent.

          2. Cursing is rampant. (Clinton caught cursing on camera).

      D. “Their doings are against the Lord.”

          1. It is not secret that capital hill is filled with immorality.

          2. Out leader has been impeached for immoral conduct with a government employee.

II. AMERICA IS AGAINST GOD BECAUSE SODOMY IS ACCEPTED.

     A. Billy Clinton promised homosexuals that he would support them, and he has.

          1. He nominated Roberta Achtenberg for the Number 2 HUD post. She was confirmed by a liberal Senate of the early 90’s by a 58 – 31 vote.

          2. During a recent Senate recess, knowing he did not have the support to confirm his homosexual nominee, Clinton, by executive order, named James Hormel, meatpacking heir and homosexual philanthropist, to be Ambassador to Luxemburg.

          3. President Clinton proudly proclaimed June as Gay and Lesbian Pride Month.

          4. Homosexal nations will be cast out (I Kings 14:24). God condemns sodomy 53 times in a Bible.

          5. God will not wink at the filth and wickedness of this nation (verses 9b, 11).

          6. God promises to bless the righteous (verse 10).

III. AMERICA IS AGAINST GOD BECAUSE IT CALLS EVIL GOOD AND GOOD EVIL (Isaiah 5:20).

      A. Movies glorify violence, illicit sex and perversion.

     B. Monique Dostie, director of a group home for mentally retarded adults in Maine, is being threatened with the loss of her license if she does not allow pornography and sexual activity at the home. Ms. Dostie said: “They’re not the ones asking for sex or pornography. It’s the state that is mandating it.

     C. Convicted felons ged paid millions to play professional sports. James Miller was arrested twice while at UCLA for stealing. He pointed a loaded gun at a bar bouncer, and has now been signed by the Cleveland Browns for 1.3 million dollar contract.

     D. Middle School book, supported by the Justice Department and Clinton, links Christianity to hatred and violence.

IV. AMERICA IS AGAINST GOD BECAUSE OF CROOKED LEADER (Isaiah 1:21-23)

      A. It does matter how a politician acts in private!

     B. Our jails are full of crooked policitians and many more should be there.

V. AMERICA IS AGAINST GOD BECAUSE WITCHCRAFT IS ADVOCATED (Isaiah 2:6)

      A. America is obsessed with the occult – Leave it alone!

      B. Psychics are advertising and promoted on TV.

     C. The Army has appointed 5 witches to the chapliancy.

VI. AMERICA IS AGAINST GOD BECAUSE OF ABORTION (Isaiah 1:15).

      A. There are over 1.5 million abortions per year in the US.

     B. Texas reported 84,87 abortions in 1997. 5,500 were performed on minors. Governor George W. Bush has signed legislation that will require parental consent for unmarried girls under 18.

      C. Partial birth abortion is vile, senseless murder.

     D. Isaiah 1:16-17 admonished us to do right, to stop the murder of babies.

VII. AMERICA HAS ONE HOPE (Isaiah 1:18)

     A. The hope of America is not in the stock market or the military. The hope of America is in the Lord.

     B. Isaiah 1:18 is the great invitation of Isaiah. There are invitations given in Isaiah and in the Word of God.

           1. Isaiah 55:1

           2. Isaiah 59:1-2

CONCLUSION: America is against God, but you don’t have to be.
